Digital Media & Communications Manager

The Deoc Ensemble is a small business consisting of a group of musicians based in Indianapolis who perform for events. I started out as a contracted musician, and am now also the coordinator all of the ensemble's digital content. I schedule all social media content and manage Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram using Hootsuite. I edit photos using Adobe Photoshop C6 to maintain a consistent brand. I contact clients for reviews and post them on the website. I spearheaded the upgrade for the ensemble's website, including advising the business to include more information clients will be needing. I also recommend promotional projects to help the ensemble gain more ground in Indianapolis.

Marketing and Communications Intern

Indy Parks and Recreation is a governmental department in Indianapolis that concerns all of the public parks in the city. So far as Marketing Intern, I have assisted in the creation of signage, mock-ups, email campaigns, and social media content. I've worked to develop new social media campaigns, considering current and planned promotional activities. I arrange meetings with various Park Managers across Indianapolis. I also introduce consistent branding, since the department does not have an in-house graphic designer. I created organizational system for Partner fund requests; essentially, I input all of the relevant information from documents over the past several years into one document, so specific information can be searched for easily.

Digital Marketing and Graphic Design Intern

In Fall 2018, I worked for Butler University as the digital marketing and graphic design intern. I made event pages, wrote press releases, created content for the Butler Stories site, and created designs on an as-needed bases for both print and online publication. I also sent out event announcement emails using Ticketmaster. One of my designs, a poster design for a Butler Wind Ensemble concert, was highly praised and shared around the campus community, much to my excitement and gratitude!

I am currently a graphic designer for the Butler Student Government Association and The Collegian, Butler's student-run newspaper. 

Marketing & Communications Intern

As an intern at The Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art in Summer 2018, my responsibilities included creating and scheduling social media content using CoSchedule (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), creating graphics for social media and other use on Adobe Illustrator, uploading content to the website (www.eiteljorg.org), writing content for the Eiteljorg Blog (www.eiteljorg.org/interact/blog) and creating and mailing out the weekly newsletter using Delivra.

 

Preparation for The Eiteljorg's biggest event of the year, the Indian Market and Festival, included the creation of graphics, interviewing market artists (see an example below), creating in-depth Instagram stories, and more. I helped execute the event over the course of a weekend including surveying patrons on their experiences while documenting performances through photography (Canon Rebel T3i) and social media. 

Marketing & Communications Intern

As an intern at the ISO in Summer 2017, I created and managed social media content regularly: all channels including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. I also coordinated social media strategies with other interns and presented creative ideas to managers, including two video projects which reached over 5,000 views. I helped plan and execute the Kroger Symphony on the Prairie marketing engagement efforts reaching nearly 150,000 patrons—this includes Enter-to-Wins, emails, onsite engagement, and social media. I also assisted the graphic design specialist in creating a Snapchat filter and also proofread program notes for the 2017-2018 performance season.

Publicity Committee Chair: 2016 - Present

While serving as Vice President in the year 2017, I had to collaboratively administrate Committee and Chapter activities. I also organized recruitment and planned the initiation ceremony and activities for new members. Following Initiation I helped seamlessly integrate new members into Chapter community. Apart from new member recruitment, I helped plan and execute fundraisers and service events. 

As Publicity Committee Chair, I advertise for all Chapter activities and promote on social media. In 2018 I created the flyer used to promote a recital by the Mu Phi Epsilon International Competition Winner, and oversaw the advertisements for said recital. In addition, I maintain email contact with all current members and alumni. I am the newsletter editor, a yearly piece which goes out to all Mu Phi connections that we have.
